Production Planner

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

The Production Planner is responsible for the scheduling of finished goods, in-house production, customer service assemblies and accessories. The scheduling of Production is managed through calculations and analysis to ensure sequence and leveling optimization, balancing restrictions and demand requirements (Sales Forecast).

The Production Planner optimizes and develops all different facets of the supply chain to improve delivery and cost through structured problem solving and leading improvement projects.

The position's responsibility requires tracking of demand development through net MRP requirements and order entry, versus production capacities and component availability. Responsibilities also include leading the Sales & Operations Planning Process. The used supply strategies use lean manufacturing concepts or DDMRP calculations, targeting higher production availability and customer fulfillment satisfaction. I.e. the daily work requires structured problem solving, root cause analysis and project lead responsibilities, to continuously improve communication automation/ digitalization, delivery lead times, inventory optimization and cost improvement/ savings. In addition, the responsibilities involve, process development, material flow understanding, Total Cost of Ownership calculations and analyses, phase-in/phase-out process coordination/ optimization responsibility.

- Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing cross-functional, fully integrated planning schedules that incorporates capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material, and forecast for all production & assembly lines.

- Responsible for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle that drives the process for production & factory capacity settings.

- Define, develop and apply Scheduling & Inventory Strategies (e.g. sequencing, leveling, supermarkets, make to stock, make to order etc.) to optimize cost vs. delivery, to maximize operational efficiency.

- Problem Solving – Apply standard methodology (5 why/8D/A3/PDCA/Problem Solving Sheet (PSS)) to all deviations from defined standards and identified issues to ensure continuous cost & delivery improvement, based on identified root cause.

- Project Lead – Lead company Systems CIP (Continuous Improvement Projects). Targeting improved Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost Improvements Cost Savings, or Cost avoidance. $25.000/ year

- Make and present Decision Matrix using data driven analysis and root cause analysis.

- Follow Escalation Matrix notifications with problem identified and decision matrix available.

- Comply with all the applicable corporate policies and procedures with regard to personal conduct, Environment Health Safety (EHS), Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA), Purchasing Policy, Confidentiality and other requirements as identified by the Company Associate Handbook).

- Perform all other duties as assigned

Your profile

- Four-Year College (Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business) – Required

- Master’s Degree (Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business) – Preferred

- Certificate (Problem Solving e.g. Red-X (Shainin), 8D, PDCA or 6-SIGMA) - Preferred

- Certificate (Project Lead) – Preferred

- Certificate (Supply Chain e.g. APICS) - Preferred

- 0-2 Years Experience (Supply Chain or Manufacturing) – Required

- 0-2 Years Experience (Forecasting, planning, scheduling) – Required

- Understanding of Supply Chain theories, applications and lean philosophy, e.g. DDMRP

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
