Automation Electrical Tech III, 2nd Shift

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

Design, build and/or maintain electrical/electronic equipment to include but not limited to test equipment, automated assembly fixtures, material handling systems, and production counting systems. These systems can be made up of but not limited to PLC’s, AC/DC circuits, servo controls, robotic systems, welding systems, electro-mechanical devices and electrical test equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using wire diagrams, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and other documentation is required.

- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic/electrical equipment to resolve problems in a timely manner.

- Write, improve, and/or troubleshoot programs for PLC’s.

- Troubleshoot functional programs for HMI devices.

- Preferred knowledge in troubleshooting robotic devices.

- Builds new electronic equipment from schematic designs including selection and lay out of components as well as circuit testing and debugging.

- Program bar code scanners for use in unit identification and quality assurance process.

- Apply automation process to fixture applications to increase efficiency.

- Maintain the documentation for existing equipment and machinery.

- Communicate directly with OEM support groups if required.

- Prepare documentation for new equipment and machinery.

- Calibrate instrumentation as needed.

- Participate in Continuous Improvement Process.

- Support factory TPM program according to the BSH Production System.

- Follow lockout, tag-out procedures for safe maintenance of equipment.

- Occasionally analyze, discuss, and solve complex maintenance problems with sub-contractors and suppliers to avoid supply shortages and factory shutdowns

- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Strong candidate would possess industrial controls knowledge and troubleshooting industrial machinery.

Your profile

- Two-Year College (Technical Degree in Electronics or Industrial/Electrical Systems) - Required

- 5-7 Years (Technical Manufacturing Environment Experience) – Required

- 7-10 Years (Technical Manufacturing Environment Experience) – Preferred

- Formal Training in Industrial Maintenance, Control Technology or closely related field

- Must have exceptional knowledge of machine controls.

- Thorough understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, electromechanical devices, network, data/tele communication systems.

- PLC experience required.

- Be able to handle pressure, interruptions and meet deadlines.

- Good understanding of factory and environmental safety.

- Good communication skills.

- Strong personal computer skills.

- Knowledgeable in programming programmable logic controllers.

- Skill in the use of standard electronic shop tools and instruments.

- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic and wiring diagrams.

- Small hand tools, computers, MS Office, Simatic Manager, AutoCad and electrical/electronic test equipment.

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
