Description of Work

The Vehicle/Equipment Operator is responsible for picking up soiled linens and delivering clean linens to all homes and program areas across the campus. The position also delivers incontinence supplies to residential homes and assists with sorting and folding both soiled and clean linens as needed. Duties include washing and sanitizing laundry carts and maintaining the cleanliness of the soiled linen room. The operator is responsible for ensuring that the assigned vehicle remains clean and sanitary at all times. Additional duties may be performed as assigned by the supervisor.

This Vehicle/Equipment Operator position is located within the Environmental Services Department with it's working hours being Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $32,287.00 – $56,502.00

  • Working knowledge of vehicle utilized in performance of daily tasks.

  • Ability to perform pre-operational checks of vehicles/equipment. Ability to accurately maintain standard mileage, cargo, and/or cash receipt records.

  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and follow appropriate procedures. Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.

  • Management Preference: High school diploma/GED, Forklift certification, and possess a valid NC Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force.
