Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position
The person in this position will be an integral part of an admissions team charged with the responsibility of identifying, recruiting and enrolling a large and highly qualified new student class each year. The person should be equipped to provide strategic direction to the Transfer Admissions Recruitment team. The person should be an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will articulate admissions policies and procedures to students, parents, counselors and members of the University community by participating in University undergraduate admission recruitment activities, including college day/night programs, individual visits to secondary and post secondary institutions, alumni meetings, campus visitation programs, and other events as required. Recruitment activities may involve considerable public speaking.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary function of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to identify, attract, and enroll first year and transfer students with outstanding academic ability and potential.
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelors degree and three years experience in Admissions or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field; possess a thorough understanding of the Minimum Admission Requirements as outlined by the University of North Carolina System. Excellent oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills are necessary. Must have the flexibility to travel for extended periods and a willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Masters preferred. Five or more years experience in Admissions and supervision and management experience preferred.
