Primary Purpose of Department
The mission of the athletic program at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is to operate within the perspective of the overall educational program of UNC Charlotte. With a balanced program that supports opportunities for all students and staff, the department promotes a total person concept that prepares its student-athletes with the necessary tools to be successful in academic, athletic, and social settings. Primary Purpose of Position
Assist the Head Track and Field Coach with all aspects of the track and field/cross country program.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
  • Direct coaching responsibilities of student athletes, recruiting, team travel, practice strategy, player development, and facility maintenance
  • Prepare the team to be competitive within the affiliated conference with the ultimate goal of making the NCAA postseason.
  • Follow NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Academics – monitor student-athletes ’ academic progress in conjunction with the AAC staff.
Minimum Education/Experience
Undergraduate degree and previous playing/coaching experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Previous playing or coaching experience within a track and field/cross country program at the Division I level.
