S&ME is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Ultrasonic NDT Testing Technician<5c trong=""> to become part of our Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluations (NDT\/NDE) team in Charlotte, North Carolina<5c trong="">. As an Ultrasonic Testing Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and integrity of our most complex construction projects by conducting ultrasonic and phased array ultrasonic testing of pipe welds. The role is ideal for experienced inspectors ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities.<5c pan=""><5c>\n

What You Will Do:<5c pan=""><5c trong=""><5c pan=""><5c>\n

  • Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing<5c trong="">: Perform advanced non-destructive tests and evaluations on various construction materials and structures, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to detect defects and irregularities.<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
  • Communication:<5c trong=""> Collaborate with our skilled engineering team to accurately interpret and report findings while ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
  • Project Coordination<5c trong="">: Coordinate and manage testing assignments, maintain testing equipment, and conduct fieldwork, which includes safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks up to heights exceeding 200 feet.<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
  • Report Creation<5c trong="">: Create detailed reports to effectively communicate your findings, contributing to informed decision-making and project excellence.<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
  • Schedule:<5c trong=""> Work 50 hour weeks during peak workload periods, as well as off-shift and weekend work as required.<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n<5c l="">\n

Strong problem 2011solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication with engineers and project teams are critical.     Qualifications:<5c pan=""><5c trong=""><5c pan=""><5c>\n

    • Education:<5c trong=""> High School Diploma\/GED<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
    • Experience:<5c trong=""> <5c pan="">\n
        \n
      • 2 years of NDT\/NDE metals testing experience or an associate's degree<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
      • Experience in shear wave and compression wave ultrasonic testing<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
      • You have reached achievement in ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
      • You have Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
      • You have experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
      • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing is a plus<5c pan=""><5c pan=""><5c i="">\n<5c l="">\n<5c i="">\n
      • Certifications Preferred:<5c trong=""> <5c pan="">\n

        • ICC certification in Building Inspections and\/or Structural Steel Inspection<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
        • Level II for PT, MT certifications<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n<5c l="">\n<5c i="">\n<5c l="">\n

          Working Conditions and Physical Demands:<5c trong=""><5c pan=""><5c>\n

          This role involves hands-on work in outdoor environments, and with Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you'll need to be comfortable with:<5c pan=""><5c>\n

          • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
          • Climbing heights over 200 feet<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n

          • Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary<5c pan=""><5c i="">\n
